Shockwave
therapy is a new non-surgical procedure that is now utilized in
the treatment of chronic plantar fasciitis pain associated with
or without heel spur syndrome. This exciting new technique takes
advantage of low energy sound waves that attempt to break up fibrous
adhesions and scar tissue within the tight plantar fascia without
actually making any surgical incisions.
This proven method of care is similar to
the more common sound wave based lithotripsy procedure used for
the treatment of painful kidney stones. Lithotripsy has been used
around the world for over twenty years with great success.
Developed in Europe over ten years ago and
used extensively around the world, ESWT is fast becoming the treatment
of choice for chronic plantar fasciitis and soon will be approved
for other chronic inflammatory conditions, such as tennis elbow
and achilles tendonitis.
If you are suffering from chronic heel pain
associated with chronic plantar fasciitis, possibly with heel spur
syndrome and have received little relief with at least six months
of conservative care, you may be a candidate for the ESWT procedure.

treatment for your painful heel condition.
