Dr. Ronald W. Hugar of Elmwood Park recently
attended the annual statewide conference of the Illinois Podiatric Medical
Association (IPMA) held in Galena, Illinois. Dr. Hugar participated
in scientific sessions at the three day conference covering topics ranging
from new procedures in foot surgery to practice management.
The IPMA Annual Meeting is the largest
meeting of podiatric physicians practicing in Illinois. It is designed
to provide continuing medical education and serves as a forum for discussion
about new clinical information and policy issues impacting the profession.
In addition, the organization's new officers were installed at this
meeting. This year's IPMA president is Michael Wessels, DPM, of Rock
Falls, IL.
Based in Chicago, the IPMA serves more
than 650 podiatric physician members and is the official voice of Illinois
practitioners. The association offers educational and professional development
services and promotes the benefits of podiatric medicine to health care
professionals and consumers.
